Service

Rework &
Rectification

Recover non-conforming parts
under controlled conditions

When non-conforming parts can be recovered, we carry out rework or rectification according to instructions you have approved, then check the reworked parts against the applicable criteria — so that recovery does not become a new source of risk.

The challenge

Recover parts
without adding risk

Scrapping parts that could be recovered is costly and can leave your line short of components. But uncontrolled rework can create new defects or mix reworked and untreated parts.

What we provide: rework or rectification carried out according to the method you approve, with verification of the result and clear separation between parts before and after rework.

  • Review of the non-conformity and of the proposed rework method
  • Rework or rectification according to approved instructions
  • Verification of reworked parts against the applicable criteria
  • Segregation of parts that cannot be recovered
  • Records of quantities reworked, accepted and rejected

Controls & traceability

Every reworked part
accounted for

Rework must remain visible in your quality records. We agree with you how parts are tracked through the operation and what is reported.

  • Clear identification of parts before and after rework
  • Verification of reworked parts before release
  • Quantities reworked, accepted and rejected per lot
  • Non-recoverable parts segregated and identified
  • Observations to help prevent the defect from recurring

Our process

Rework in four steps

  1. 1Assess the defect

    Nature of the non-conformity
    and recovery options.

  2. 2Approve the method

    Rework instructions and
    acceptance criteria agreed.

  3. 3Rework and verify

    Parts reworked, then checked
    against the criteria.

  4. 4Record and release

    Results documented; parts
    released as agreed.

Benefits

Recovery that stays
under control

  • Less scrap of recoverable parts
  • Reworked parts verified before release
  • No mixing of reworked and untreated parts
  • Traceable records of each rework operation
  • Input to help prevent recurrence
  • Flexible support adapted to project scope and operational needs

Frequently asked questions

Who defines the rework method?

The rework method must be approved by you and, where required, by your customer. We apply the approved instructions and do not change the method without your agreement.

Can every non-conforming part be reworked?

No. Rework is only suitable when the defect can be corrected without affecting the functional, safety or appearance requirements of the part. Parts that cannot be recovered are segregated and identified.

How do you check reworked parts?

Reworked parts are checked against the acceptance criteria defined for the operation, using the inspection means agreed with you, before they are released.

Where is rework carried out?

Depending on the parts and the tools required, rework can take place at your site, at a supplier’s premises or at another location agreed with you.

Do you report on rework operations?

Yes. Quantities reworked, accepted and rejected, and any relevant observations, are recorded and shared in the format agreed with you.
